Elizabeth Eero Irving
This year I continued my love of working with acrylics and gold leaf on birch panel, although this series stayed rather small. I did quite a lot of new work for one solo show as well as six invitational, juried, and group exhibits. I held onto my fascination with certain images; branches, eggshells, nails and the ubiquitous fortune cookies.

Also in 2009 I began my low-residency MFA through the Vermont Studio Center, which inspired a whole body of very, very different paintings and drawings to what I had been working on previously. I rediscovered my love of chalk pastels and the figure entered my work for the first time in almost ten years.
